1. Consulting-Workshop
A look behind your scenes
In order to determine the right system components, we look together at your typical tasks and workflows as well as at all the teams, departments and locations involved. We identify time-wasters and bring many years of experience in the areas of digitization, Industry 4.0 and automation of process chains. We start with a classic analysis of the current situation and the development of a target scenario. This is followed by a needs analysis and a catalog of measures. In this workshop, we get to know you as a company, we look at your processes and - if appropriate - redefine them together, always with a view to introducing your new or even your first system for controlling and managing all product data in your portfolio.
2. Setting up your PDM system
Your individual software solution is created
The requirements catalog created in the consulting workshop is essentially the classic specification sheet. In modern, agile software development, people tend to think in terms of user stories, i.e. user scenarios. If we stick with the term requirements catalog, our software experts will use this as a basis to set up your individual GAIN Collaboration PDM system and configure it according to your specific requirements. In this step, the relevant interfaces and databases are implemented alongside the actual system.
3. Migration of data
Let's bring everything together
This is certainly one of the biggest challenges when introducing product data management software. Characteristics and master data of articles and entire parts lists are already available and must now be stored centrally in GAIN Collaboration with the aim of being absolutely correct and complete in all versions. To do this, our team works with complex rule systems that are defined and coordinated in advance. This ensures that even a very extensive data landscape is migrated precisely and reliably and is available for unrestricted use in your new PDM system.

Dieser Schritt ist sehr kundenspezifisch und hängt stark vom Umfang der involvierten Systeme, der Anzahl der vernetzten Teams und der Komplexität der Regelwerke zur Datenmigration ab. In großen Unternehmen empfiehlt sich ein Pilotprojekt mit einem ausgewählten Team, welches über eine definierte Zeit mit dem neuen System arbeitet und es auf Herz und Nieren prüft. In diesem Schritt begleitet unser Team Sie durch das Refinement Ihres individuellen Customizings, also dem Finetuning Ihres PDM-Systems.

6. Introduction to the interface and operation
Let’s get your team
We generally recommend training your team on new software. Nothing is more frustrating in a digital world than new and therefore initially completely unfamiliar software that you now have to somehow get used to. Introductory courses are the right way to gain acceptance for a new system. Together we will show your team that, despite all the complexity that product data can entail, operation via GAIN Collaboration will make everyday work easier and improve it in the long term. Separate training courses for your system administrators can of course be scheduled before the pure user training.
